As a professional coach I draw on my 30 years of experience as a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst to help physicians address and resolve problems, challenges, and stress related to their professional and/or personal lives. I also draw on my more recent training with the Physician Coaching Institute which has led to my becoming a Certified Physician Development Coach and on my training with the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching [iPEC] which has led me to my becoming a member of the International Coaching Federation.
All physicians struggle to develop and to maintain a healthy and satisfying balance between their personal lives and their professional lives. All physicians try to live well and to work well – and physicians often get derailed. I know from my own experience - and from my professional work with many physicians over the past 30 years – about the nature of the problems, challenges and stress that physicians encounter in their personal and/or professional lives. I had had to learn to deal with these issues in my personal life and I have learned a great deal from physicians who have shared their stories with me and with whom I have worked to find resolutions that worked for them.
The coaching process that I offer to you will focus on the particular personal and/or professional problems or challenges that you are facing. And we will be thinking in psychological depth about the relationship between the problems you are facing and the internal psychological processes that are active within your that may be contributing to your difficulties. I will partner with you in a thoughtful, reflective and creative process that will lead you to the resolution of the issue that you are facing and which will inspire you to maximize your personal and professional potential.
